CATARACT TREATMENT CAMPAIGN – Feb 2023

In February 2023, we launched the third phase of a three-phase cataract treatment campaign in Maputo, Mozambique. This campaign, jointly funded by the Islamic Development Bank and UOSSM Canada, is being implemented by Local Potential Enhancing (LPE) in collaboration with the Mozambique Ministry of Health and the National Ophthalmology Program. The campaign in Mozambique aims to provide 3,000 blind and visually impaired patients with eyesight restoration surgeries. The initiative is funded by the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and the Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations (UOSSM), and it is being implemented by the National Ophthalmology Program of the Republic of Mozambique and the Local Potential Enhancing Organization (LPE).
